Class will meet each Wednesday from 6pm-8pm via zoom. The rest of the class will be on Canvas. 

This is a six-week course that teaches individuals to work alongside a licensed teacher in the K-12 classroom setting. Online assignments and zoom sessions with the instructor are mandatory. Instruction is one time per week for two hours. Students will also complete a ten-hour practicum at a school of their choice. 

Aug 21st through Sept 25th

06/03/2024-06/30/2024  Self-pace online class 

Course will be on Canvas. Students must be 21 years or older and have one of the following prior to the course; a Paraeducator Certificate, an associate degree or 60 credits hours from an accredited institution. Upon completion of this class, participants will need to work with the State of Iowa to complete their Substitute Authorization application. We will provide information regarding the remaining requirements needed to complete the application. Your State of Iowa application may take 4-6 weeks to process. 

Nov 4th- Dec 1st  Self-pace 

Self-paced classes are taught asynchronously. Assignments are online.
