CAMPS FOR AGES 12-18 YEARS
Campers must fall within their age groups by the first day of camp. Sack lunch and refillable water bottle are required. Please download the Zoo Camp Information Packet for guidelines and FAQ's. Camps run 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
June 6- Exhibit Design
Discover what goes into building a new habitat at the Zoo. Then try your hand at building your own Zoo exhibit!
June 9 - All about the Shark
Get up close and personal with the top predator in the sea! Explore amazing adaptations and separate shark facts from fiction!
June 13 - Marine Scientist
Aquatic adventures await you as you unravel the mysteries of marine life and discover your connections to the ocean! Sink your teeth into the truth about sharks, meet a 'living fossil' and look down into the tanks from behind the scenes. You'll learn about the most magnificent creatures found in water - from plankton to whales and everything in between! You'll also discover why oceans and rivers are important to your everyday life.
June 16 - Dirty Jobs
Grimy, gritty, gooey and just plain gross! Join us as we discover various Zoo jobs and how these professionals roll up their sleeves and get the work done!
June 23 - Keeper Camp - Desert Dome
So you think you want to be a desert dome keeper? Join us for this exciting camp where we will discover what it takes to be in this specific field. Campers will learn about animal nutrition, veterinary care, enrichment, and cleaning in specific areas!
June 27 - Diving into the Deep
Dive in and explore the depths of the ocean! Encounter mysterious creatures, extreme waves, underwater volcanoes, and discover what you can do to protect the deep blue sea!
June 30 - Animal Classification
Campers learn about how different species are classified and how adaptations make them perfectly suited to live in their environment!
July 5 - ZSI
Sometimes protecting animals takes a badge. Learn how forensics can help stop animal trafficking and cruelty. Do you have what it takes to be a ZOO Scene Investigator?
July 7 - Invasive Species
Invasive species can wreak havoc on local ecosystems. Learn how we can stop the spread of these invasive species and help protect our planet!
July 7- The Zoo Dating Game
Match maker, match maker, make me a match! Learn how modern zoos keep their animal populations healthy through Species Survival Plans which ensure genetic diversity!
July 11 - Conservation Heroes
Become a champion for all living things by joining us at the Zoo to learn about issues facing animas in our world today. Learn how you can help make a positive difference for these animals and the wildlife in your own neighborhood. Become a Conservation Hero today!
July 25 - Sharks and Rays
Plunge into the underwater world of sharks and stingrays! Discover waht these relatives have in common and what makes them unique. Plus, you'll get to check out stingray beach.
