FREE MCS Intro to Programming for Middle School Students: Student Application

This summer, Mystery Code Society is offering a fundamentals of code course, a free coding class at Do Space (5111 N 90th St, Omaha, NE 68134 )

Schedule and Deadlines

Sundays 1:00 - 3:30 PM,  June 2nd - July 14th, 2024 with a break on July 7th for Independence day (6 weeks).

Participants do NOT need any prior coding experience OR a computer of their own to take this class. This class is for middle school students, with preference for students of marginalized gender. However, we encourage all students to apply!

The application is due by May 24th.

Learning Outcomes

In this course, students will learn fundamentals of code through the exploration of Scratch. Some of the concepts that will be covered include: data types and variable assignments, loops, conditionals, functions. By the end of this 6-week course, students will be able to apply what they have learned to build a game of their own.
