Amateur Radio Kids Day on the Air

On 4 Jan 25, from 10am to 3pm, amateur radio operators will put kids (and adults) "on the air" using radio technology.  There will be three locations: Yates Illuminates Community Center, Ashland Public Library, and Blair Public Library.  The amateur radio team at each site will using High Frequency (HF) and Very High Frequency (VHF) radio equipment to speed with other Kids across the region, nation, and world.  A scheduled contact with kids from Wick High School, located in Northern Scotland, is in work.

Learning Outcomes

Exposure to amateur radio using radio frequency and equipment to communicate with others without need for commercial telecommunications. This experience involves radio technology and frequency utilization with engineering topics, computer technology, antenna technology, etc...
